A Mother’s Footsteps

It was a busy day in our Costa Mesa, California, home. But then, with 6 children and one on the way, every day was a bit hectic. On this particular day, however, I was having trouble doing even routine chores — all because of one little boy. Len, who was three at the time, was on my heels no matter where I went. Whenever I stopped to do something and turned back around, I would trip over him. Several times, I patiently suggested fun activities to keep him occupied. “Wouldn’t you like to play on the swing set?” I asked again.

But he simply smiled an innocent smile and said, “Oh, that’s all right Mommy. I’d rather be in here with you.” Then he continued to bounce happily along behind me.

After stepping on his toes for the fifth time, I began to lose my patience and insisted that he go outside and play with the other children. When I asked him why he was acting this way, he looked up at me with sweet green eyes and said, “Well, Mommy, in my Sunday School class my teacher told me to walk in Jesus’ footsteps. But I can’t see him, so I’m walking in yours.”

Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart. And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. Deut. 6:4-7

The Love of a Senior Pastor

I received this e-mail and I wanted to share it. I hope it blesses you.

92 year old preacher…

While watching a little TV on Sunday instead of going to church,

I watched a church in Atlanta honoring one of its senior pastors

who had been retired many years. He was 92 at that time and I

wondered why the church even bothered to ask the old gentleman

to preach at that age.

After a warm welcome, introduction of this speaker, and as the

applause quieted down, he rose from his high back chair and

walked slowly, with great effort and a sliding gate to the podium.

Without a note or written paper of any kind he placed both hands

on the pulpit to steady himself and then quietly and slowly he began

to speak….

The Great I AM

Because Jesus is I Am

I was watching TV the other day and I heard a statement:”Because Jesus is I am”.
This statement can have 2 very strong meanings depending on the inflections of your voice or the placement of a comma.
When Moses asked God what name he could tell the Hebrews God said this.
Exo 3:14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

So we could rightly say “…..Jesus is I AM”
For Jesus says:
I am the bread of life: John 6:35
I am the light of the world: John 8:12
I am the door: John 10:9
I am the good shepherd: John 10:11
I am the resurrection, and the life: John 11:25
I am the way, the truth, and the life:John 14:6
I am the vine, ye are the branches: John 15:5

If we place a pause or comma in that statement the meaning becomes personal.
Because Jesus is, I am:
forgiven:
redeemed:
a new creature in Christ:
delivered:
healed:
Loved:
a joint heir with Jesus Christ.

This is only the beginning,
1Jo 3:2 My dear friends, we are now God’s children, but it is not yet clear what we shall become. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he really is.

Maranatha come soon Lord Jesus

1Co 16:22 Whoever does not love the Lord—a curse on him! Marana tha—Our Lord, come!
1Co 16:23 The grace of the Lord Jesus be with you.

Out of the Mouth of babes

The Heart

'Tomorrow morning,' the surgeon began,
'I'll open up your heart...'

'You'll find Jesus there,' the boy
Interrupted.

The surgeon looked up, annoyed 'I'll
Cut your heart open,' he continued,
To see how much damage has been
Done...'

'but when you open up my heart, you'll
Find Jesus in there,' said the boy.

The surgeon looked to the parents, who
Sat quietly. 'When I see how much
Damage has been done, I'll sew your
Heart and chest back up, and I'll plan
What to do next.'

Have we Forgotten?

I did not compose this item but I endorse it’s contents!!!   She’s ticked off???   I am ticked off about this as we ALL should be. We had best correct this situation, and quickly, or teach our children and grandchildren to learn to live with it.

This was allegedly written by a housewife from New Jersey and sounds like it! This is one ticked off lady.

“Are we fighting a war on terror or aren’t we? Was it or was it not started by Islamic people who brought it to our shores on September 11, 2001?

Were people from all over the world, mostly Americans, not brutally murdered that day, in downtown Manhattan , across the Potomac from our nation’s capitol and in a field in Pennsylvania ?

Did nearly three thousand men, women and children die a horrible, burning or crushing death that day, or didn’t they?

And I’m supposed to care that a copy of the Koran was “desecrated” when an overworked American soldier kicked it or got it wet?…Well, I don’t. I don’t care at all.
