I was praying in my prayer closet, and Perhaps I was reminding God on just how bad this world is today, and it dawned on me, He knows it.
Then I started thinking what would the perfect world be like? Would it be a world with no war, no corruption in government, would it be everyone helping each other without evil motives? Could this ever happen?

Memorial day, the beginning of summer vacation time, backyard BBQ’s, long week-end off of work, and many more actions of relaxation.
But do you think of our men and women in harm’s way that may not see tomorrow?
Do you think of the men and women that gave their lives for this freedom we have to enjoy that long week-end or that BBQ with friends and family.
Have you prayed for our troops today? Did you remember them as you enjoyed your freedom? Read the rest of this entry »

Please allow me to start off with this. Due to the recent decision by a Federal Appeals Court judge, the National Day of Prayer has come under attack. It seems most that are against the National Day of Prayer (or any government involvement in any religious activity) are using the First Amendment as the reasoning and the “Separation of Church and State” (which is not in the US Constitution or any of the Amendments, but in the writings of Thomas Jefferson).
First, let’s review the entire First Amendment:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
I am going to explain this amendment the best I can, though I only have “layman’s” knowledge and do not claim to be an expert in law or the constitution.

In our back yard we have a couple of apple trees. A few years ago all the conditions were just right and we had a bumper harvest of apples. As I look at those trees, I realize each tree springs up from a tiny seed. That tiny seed at one time was alive in an apple, in order to become a mighty fruit bearing tree that seed would have to die and be placed in the ground.
John 12:23 But Jesus answered them, saying, “The hour has come that the Son of Man should be glorified.
John 12:24 Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain.
We call today Good Friday, today we remember when the Son of God died on the cross for us. Sin brings forth death. Our sin and the sin of the world carries the penalty of death. (Rom.6:23)
The reason we can call today Good Friday is because He who had no sin of His own, paid for our sins by taking our place, paying for our sins. (2 Cor.5:21)
Today can be a Good day for you.

Our constitution says we have free speech, but to hear the news lately I wonder, is that free speech no longer available to us.
I read that a person in MA lost his job because when their supervisor repeatedly talked about their same sex marriage, this person shared their biblically based views on marriage , and that person’s views got that person fired. Free Speech?
Now there is a real danger of preachers being gagged in the pulpit as if we were in Red China or some non free country.
I even heard one man saying he thought this terrorist shooting in Texas was because of the Mohammad cartoons and the failure to remove the cartoons from all media. (remember the cartoons) In fact the host of the talk show this was on has a website and his company forced him to remove the cartoons from his site. ( although that company had the right. this shows where free speech really is )
