SELL YOUR SON FOR A QUARTER
Several years ago, a new preacher moved to Houston, Texas. Some weeks after he arrived, he had occasion to ride the bus from his home to the downtown area. When he sat down, he discovered that the driver had accidentally given him a quarter too much change. As he considered what to do, he thought to himself, “You’d better give the quarter back. It would be wrong to keep it.”
Then he thought, “Oh, forget, it’s only a quarter. Who would worry about this little amount. Anyway, the bus company gets too much fare; they will never miss it. Accept it as a ‘Gift from God’ and keep quiet.” Read the rest of this entry »

Jesus Lives
Matt 28:1 Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb.
Matt 28:2 And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it.
Matt 28:3 His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow.
Matt 28:4 And the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men.
Matt 28:5 But the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified.
Matt 28:6 “He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
Matt 28:7 “And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead, and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you.â€
Matt 28:8 So they went out quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to bring His disciples word.
Why did the angels roll the stone away?
It was not to let Jesus out, it was to show us the tomb was empty.
Death could not keep Jesus captive.
The tomb could not keep Jesus captive even with the huge stone.
The seal of the guards could not keep Jesus captive. Read the rest of this entry »

In the Grave
At high noon, it was dark, until 3PM, even creation was morning the creator.
Luke 23:44 Now it was about the sixth hour, and there was darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour.
Luke 23:45 Then the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was torn in two.
Luke 23:46 And when Jesus had cried out with a loud voice, He said, “Father, ‘into Your hands I commit My spirit.’ †Having said this, He breathed His last.
Luke 23:47 So when the centurion saw what had happened, he glorified God, saying, “Certainly this was a righteous Man!â€
Luke 23:48 And the whole crowd who came together to that sight, seeing what had been done, beat their breasts and returned.
Luke 23:49 But all His acquaintances, and the women who followed Him from Galilee, stood at a distance, watching these things.
Perhaps the Devil thought he had the victory. Jesus was dead and His disciple had fled.
True belief gives boldness, like Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus, burying Jesus.
John 19:31 Therefore, because it was the Preparation Day, that the bodies should not remain on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a high day), the Jews asked Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.
John 19:32 Then the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first and of the other who was crucified with Him.
John 19:33 But when they came to Jesus and saw that He was already dead, they did not break His legs.
John 19:34 But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out.
John 19:35 And he who has seen has testified, and his testimony is true; and he knows that he is telling the truth, so that you may believe.
John 19:36 For these things were done that the Scripture should be fulfilled, “Not one of His bones shall be broken.â€
John 19:37 And again another Scripture says, “They shall look on Him whom they pierced.â€
John 19:38 After this, Joseph of Arimathea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly, for fear of the Jews, asked Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus; and Pilate gave him permission. So he came and took the body of Jesus.
John 19:39 And Nicodemus, who at first came to Jesus by night, also came, bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about a hundred pounds.
John 19:40 Then they took the body of Jesus, and bound it in strips of linen with the spices, as the custom of the Jews is to bury.
John 19:41 Now in the place where He was crucified there was a garden, and in the garden a new tomb in which no one had yet been laid.
John 19:42 So there they laid Jesus, because of the Jews’ Preparation Day, for the tomb was nearby.
It seems the Jews was listening to Jesus yet convincing themselves that He was not the Christ.
We can thank them for securing the tomb, the truth will be made known.
Matt 27:62 On the next day, which followed the Day of Preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees gathered together to Pilate,
Matt 27:63 saying, “Sir, we remember, while He was still alive, how that deceiver said, ‘After three days I will rise.’
Matt 27:64 “Therefore command that the tomb be made secure until the third day, lest His disciples come by night and steal Him away, and say to the people, ‘He has risen from the dead.’ So the last deception will be worse than the first.â€
Matt 27:65 Pilate said to them, “You have a guard; go your way, make it as secure as you know how.â€
Matt 27:66 So they went and made the tomb secure, sealing the stone and setting the guard.
The grave could not keep our eternal Lord, He had victory over the grave, He removed the sting of death.
Eph 4:8 Therefore He says:
“When He ascended on high,
He led captivity captive,
And gave gifts to men.â€
Eph 4:9(Now this, “He ascendedâ€â€”what does it mean but that He also first descended into the lower parts of the earth?
Eph 4:10 He who descended is also the One who ascended far above all the heavens, that He might fill all things.)
Today He lives, He sits at the Father’s right hand, someday He is coming back. Will you be ready?
Would you like to know more about Jesus? Would like to personally know the creator of all?
Scriptures used are from The Holy Bible, New King James Version, (Nashville, Tennessee: Thomas Nelson, Inc.) 1982.

Good Friday
The Jews took Jesus to Praetorim where Pilate was but did not go in because that would defile them, preventing them from taking the Passover.(I guess killing the Son of God would not defile them)Pilate came out to ask the Jews why they had brought Jesus to him.
John 18:33 Then Pilate entered the Praetorium again, called Jesus, and said to Him, “Are You the King of the Jews?â€
John 18:34 Jesus answered him, “Are you speaking for yourself about this, or did others tell you this concerning Me?â€
John 18:35 Pilate answered, “Am I a Jew? Your own nation and the chief priests have delivered You to me. What have You done?â€
John 18:36 Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now My kingdom is not from here.â€
John 18:37 Pilate therefore said to Him, “Are You a king then?†Jesus answered, “You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.â€
John 18:38 Pilate said to Him, “What is truth?†And when he had said this, he went out again to the Jews, and said to them, “I find no fault in Him at all.
Pilate found no fault in Jesus. Read the rest of this entry »

A Friend’s Betrayal
The time was rapidly approaching for the Lamb of God to be sacrificed for our sins.
Jesus knows our hearts, as He knew the heart of Judas.
Matt 26:17 Now on the first day of the Feast of the Unleavened Bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying to Him, “Where do You want us to prepare for You to eat the Passover?â€
Matt 26:18 And He said, “Go into the city to a certain man, and say to him, ‘The Teacher says, “My time is at hand; I will keep the Passover at your house with My disciples.†’ â€
Matt 26:19 So the disciples did as Jesus had directed them; and they prepared the Passover.
Matt 26:20 When evening had come, He sat down with the twelve.
Matt 26:21 Now as they were eating, He said, “Assuredly, I say to you, one of you will betray Me.â€
Matt 26:22 And they were exceedingly sorrowful, and each of them began to say to Him, “Lord, is it I?â€
Matt 26:23 He answered and said, “He who dipped his hand with Me in the dish will betray Me.
Matt 26:24 “The Son of Man indeed goes just as it is written of Him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been good for that man if he had not been born.â€
Matt 26:25 Then Judas, who was betraying Him, answered and said, “Rabbi, is it I?†He said to him, “You have said it.†Read the rest of this entry »
